Planet

We’re contributing to a more sustainable planet through our lean and innovative supply chain, which aims to reduce food waste and carbon emissions, while focusing on packaging innovations and sourcing local ingredients.

  • Reducing food waste

    Our make-to-order business model inherently supports the reduction of food waste at the point of consumption with customers. In a study, we found that HelloFresh customers waste 38% less food compared to a meal cooked with ingredients from a traditional supermarket. By using data monitoring software, we can also track, analyze and manage food waste from our operations. We donate unsold edible surplus food from our distribution centers to charities - more than 10,730 tonnes or 49% of our surplus food was donated in 2023.

(or equivalent) or GFSI-certified. 95% of our fish and seafood is GLOBAL G.A.P., ASC, MSC or BAP equivalent compliant. In Europe, 96% of our chicken volume by weight is procured from farms where the stocking density is below the EU legislative maximum. Find out more here.

Standards

We believe that sustainable success requires sustainable action fostered by a culture of integrity, respect and responsibility. Our Code of Ethics and our Ethical Trading Policy set out our standards reflecting these values. In addition, we have set up a robust dedicated Compliance Management Function to prevent, detect and react to any violations of our standards.
